Practitioner ExhibitsThe Practitioner Exhibit is a great opportunity for students to meet the equine practitioner. Equine Practitioners from around the country will be on hand to represent their practice and the career opportunities in their field and part of the country. The practitioner exhibit area is open on Friday and Saturday. Speakers 2008 Speakers To Be Announced
Tours
Students are treated to tours of local farms, two area equine hospitals and Keeneland Racecourse. Tour Blocks are color coded and each student will have a colored sticker on the back of their name badge indicating which tour they are on. If a student wants a different tour they can trade "stickers" with someone who has the tour colr they want or check at the registration desk to see if there are any cancellations for the tour of their choice. Trading may not be an option. Please stay with your assigned tour block so there is even distribution of seating among the tour buses. IMPORTANT: TOURS DEPART AT 7:00AM. Please be in the lobby to load onto the buses by 6:45am at the latest. There will be "grab-n-go" breakfast food options available in the lobby.
Optional Tours
Optional tours are available to interested students on Sunday. Elaine Souers will be accepting reservations through your SCAAEP/OEPS group leader via e-mail (esouers@roodandriddle.com) on a first come, first served basis. There are 100 seats available for each option. OEPS group leaders should e-mail the names of students who want to reserve seats on the optional tours (please also designate which optional tour you are requesting).
Option 1 - KESMARC, Kentucky Equine Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation Center
Sunday Morning, August 31, 2008
Buses begin loading at 6:15am and will depart promptly at 6:30am to see the equine rehabilitation facility including swimming therapy, Aqua-tread, exercise gym, solarium and equine hyberbaric oxygen therapy. Tour will return for the morning OEPS speaker session begins.
Option 2 - Kentucky Horse Park
Sunday Afternoon, August 31, 2008
Buses load and depart The Embassy at 12:30p and will continue to shuttle students from KHP back to the hotel hourly until 4pm. The last bus leaves the KHP promptly at 4pm.
This is a self-guided tour of the KHP with admission compliments of OEPS. It is the student's responsibility to plan their time according to their return travel schedules. The Free Enterprise System Bus service and OEPS are not responsible for missed flights, etc.
